During President Donald Trump’s visit to Windsor Castle, King Charles humorously cautioned Trump to be wary of a sword being wielded by a ceremonial guard. The lighthearted exchange took place as the King and Trump stood together at the end of the Guard of Honour. Charles seized the moment to playfully warn Trump about the approaching blade.

Trump seemed to appreciate the humor and responded with a smile, engaging in conversation with King Charles immediately after the incident. The King tactfully leaned in close to Trump, whispering something in his ear in a charming gesture.

The amusing incident was captured and shared on Twitter by Daily Mail Royal Editor Rebecca English, with the caption highlighting the King’s warning to Trump about the sword. Trump and his wife Melania received a grand welcome at Windsor Castle, where they were greeted by the Prince and Princess of Wales after arriving slightly behind schedule.

The elaborate reception included the Guard of Honour, a personal meeting with the royal couple, and a brief carriage ride around the estate. This elaborate display was seen as an effort to impress Trump, who has imposed tariffs on UK imports.

The scale of the event underscores its significance, particularly as Prime Minister Keir Starmer is set to meet with Trump at Chequers later during the visit. Over 1,300 members of the British military, 120 horses, 160 personnel from the Royal Marines and Royal Navy, and around 1,000 from the British Army participated in the ceremony at Windsor Castle.

At Victoria House, the Prince and Princess of Wales greeted the American guests while William and Kate engaged in friendly conversation with Melania and Camilla. Trump conversed with the King as they boarded the Scottish State Coach for the carriage procession.
