Bin collectors were shocked to discover human skeletal remains inside a trash bag while carrying out their usual garbage collection. The workers only noticed a disturbing odor after loading the covered remains onto the back of a waste truck. Concerned that the bag might contain a body due to its tape and rope wrapping, they alerted the authorities.
Police responded to the unsettling finding at Queens Park near John F Kennedy International Airport in New York on Monday morning. Subsequent investigations by emergency services indicated that the remains likely belonged to a woman. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner will conduct further examinations to determine the cause of death and identify the deceased individual.
In a separate incident, Christopher Caron, 42, faced charges after allegedly transporting a deceased person in a vehicle to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Caron reportedly parked the car at the emergency room entrance, informed staff of the body inside, and then fled the scene as an employee inspected the vehicle. The body, identified as 27-year-old Declan Perry from Portland, was found wrapped in blankets and secured with duct tape.
Authorities confirmed that the victim’s car was used in the incident, emphasizing that the cause of death remains undisclosed. Neighbors recounted assisting Caron in loading a large blanket into the vehicle earlier on the same day. Following Caron’s arrest, a search of his residence yielded several pieces of evidence.
Declan Perry’s father, Brendan Perry, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and remembered his son as a family-oriented individual with a wide circle of friends.
