This holiday season, I’ve opted to decorate my home for Christmas earlier than usual. In the age of social media, people often face criticism for this choice, but ultimately, it’s essential to prioritize personal joy over others’ opinions.

The decision to start early this year stems from the proximity of my birthday, just six days before Christmas, and my partner’s birthday, three days after mine. This timing usually leads us away from home during the festive season, prompting the need to extend our enjoyment of the decorations.

Amidst the current wave of negative news globally, I strongly advocate for embracing any source of happiness, even if it means decking the halls sooner. The act of decorating not only brings personal joy but also serves as a cost-free way to uplift spirits, especially given the amount of time spent at home.

Critics may scoff, but adorning the house with festive décor is a delightful activity. Pairing it with a cup of mulled wine or hot chocolate while dancing to Christmas tunes creates a cozy atmosphere and a chance to unwind.

With Christmas approaching and holiday vibes in the air, joining the festive spirit by putting up decorations becomes almost inevitable. Unpacking cherished ornaments and mementos accumulated over time holds sentimental value for many families, including ours.

From holiday souvenirs to handmade trinkets, each decoration holds special memories. This year, we even acquired a fresh wreath from a local market, proudly standing out as the first house on the block to display one.

If you find yourself in need of a festive boost, I encourage you to engage in holiday decorating. Crank up the seasonal music, let the spirit of Christmas engulf you, and revel in the joy it brings. You won’t regret immersing yourself in the holiday cheer!
