Molly-Mae Hague recently shared details about her struggles with severe menstrual periods in a new YouTube video. The 26-year-old, who battles endometriosis, discussed the excruciating pain she endures due to the condition and how a past laparoscopy procedure helped alleviate some of her symptoms. She emphasized the intense and distressing experiences faced by women with endometriosis.

Endometriosis affects approximately 1.5 million women in the UK, equivalent to 1 in 10 women, a statistic comparable to those impacted by diabetes. The condition leads to severe pain, chronic fatigue, and potential infertility, with many sufferers enduring long waits for a diagnosis while others remain unaware of the condition.

Specialist Raquel Monroy, focusing on fertility and women’s health nutrition, explained that endometriosis occurs when uterine cells grow outside the uterus, causing various debilitating symptoms. Seeking medical advice is crucial for managing symptoms, as treatments and referrals to gynecologists may be necessary for further evaluation through tests like ultrasounds or laparoscopies.

The National Health Service (NHS) recommends consulting a doctor if experiencing endometriosis symptoms that significantly affect daily life. Treatment options, including surgery, are available to alleviate symptoms and manage the condition. The NHS website provides detailed information on endometriosis treatments and potential complications.
