A young girl was shot in an incident believed to be racially motivated, according to police reports. The nine-year-old was struck by an airgun three times in Chakeshill Drive, Bristol, around 1:30 pm. Although the girl did not sustain serious injuries, she has been deeply affected by the traumatic event. Authorities suspect the involvement of two individuals in the attack.

Avon and Somerset Police are in search of a white male, aged between 17 and 18, standing approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall with dark blonde hair and a slender face. The suspect was wearing a distinctive blue padded coat and riding a black electric scooter with white markings at the time of the incident.

Following the shooting, a racially offensive remark was made. The police have launched an investigation into the matter and are providing support to the victim and her family.

In an official statement, the police urged the public to come forward with any information regarding the incident, which is being treated as a racially motivated assault. Witnesses or individuals with pertinent information are encouraged to contact the police on 101.

Additionally, the police have referred the victim and her family to Stand Against Racism and Inequality (SARI) for further assistance. They have conducted CCTV reviews and house-to-house inquiries as part of their investigation. The police are now seeking witnesses or individuals with dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage related to the incident.
